The St. Louis radio personality was upset that his power went out during the Super Bowl halftime show. He made his private issues public earlier this week . . . through racially derogatory comments delivered in a mock black dialect aimed at the electric company’s senior vice president, an African-American. What really got people upset was Corcoran talking about climbing to the top of the electric company’s building “with an AK-47 and just start picking people off.” The story broke on Thursday, 2/7. Corcoran issued an apology and was suspended for two weeks that same day. Corcoran has also been relieved (at least temporarily) of his commentary duties on local FOX-TV affiliate KTVI. As they should, local leaders are calling for his dismissal.
More power to them.
In this day and age, everyone, especially those with some influence, must be more responsible with their comments . . . you never know when some crackpot is going to take matters into their own hands.
